City of Seattle Donating Bridges to the ODT

This Friday night at midnight, and continuing into Saturday morning contractors will be disassembling temporary pedestrian bridges on the Seattle waterfront. 350 feet of 13’ wide bridge in 4 sections will be loaded onto trucks and brought to Clallam county for use on the Olympic Discovery Trail. The city of Seattle is donating the bridges (they are keeping 3 segments for future use) and Clallam County is providing transportation and storage.

The Puget Sound to Pacific Collaborative facilitated the transfer.
Attached are some photos of the bridge, which should be familiar to walk-on ferry passengers between Coleman Dock and First Avenue.

PS2P Collaborative was created by PTC, the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation and North Kitsap Trails Association to promote the completion of the ODT and the Sound to Olympics Trail connecting the ferry terminals on Puget Sound to the Pacific Ocean at La Push.
