Explore the Olympic Discovery Trail

The Olympic Discovery Trail lies within the northern section of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. This unique arm of land, located west of Seattle across Puget Sound, represents the farthest northwest section of coastline in the United States. Featuring stunning natural scenery and rich cultural history, the peninsula beckons to travelers wanting to experience the Pacific Northwest’s forests, waterways, and rugged beaches.

The 135-mile Olympic Discovery Trail utilizes both existing roadways and multi-use paths to travel between Port Townsend to the east and La Push to the west. Currently, more than half of the trail’s route is on designated non-motorized paths with more sections added each year.

The possibilities for exploration are endless. From pedaling through scenic lavender fields to walking among ancient evergreen trees, the Olympic Discovery Trail provides something for every user, regardless of age or ability.
