4-3-25 Trail Closures for Maintenance
The City of Port Angeles has some upcoming ODT trail repair work taking place in April that is going to require us to close the trail in two different locations.
- Location: Marine Drive ODT Dates of Closure: April 21st – April 25th
The first area is going to be from the bottom of Hill Street, heading East, to the entrance of Port Boat Launch / Yacht Club parking lot along Marine Drive. This work will be to resurface the trail portion that was uncovered and graded this Winter. The work will not affect access to Port or Lower Elwha property but the trail itself will be closed to use and the curbside parking will also be off limits during this time.
- Location: ODT FEMA Winter Storm Repairs ( Area East of Rayonier Property all the way to Langley property entrance to ODT )
Proposed Date: Contractor would like to begin April 28th and would require 3 weeks of total closure ( thru May 16th )There are 12 identified areas of significant damage along this location that have prevented the City from being able to do there routine maintenance and clean up along this stretch and vital for us to get done now that we have received the go ahead and support from FEMA to do so. Both of these major access points ( Rayonier and 4 Seasons / Langley entrance ) will be essential access points to the work zone as the trail is not drivable all the way through in its current state end to end.City is in process of working with contractor to establish work dates with Contractor to perform this work and is requesting information for any known events that may be taking place between April 28th thru May 16th, that would need to be notified and / or rerouted. There is still some flexibility in this timeframe, but not much, as FEMA also has strict timelines as to when this work needs to be performed now that it has been approved. Thanks,Tim TuckerPort Angeles Parks and Recreation ManagerNOTICE: This email and any attachments may be subject to disclosure as a public record under the Public Records Act, RCW Chapter 42.56
