New Executive Director Hired
Peninsula Trails Coalition Hires Executive Director
37-year-old Olympic Peninsula Nonprofit hires its first-ever Executive Director in 2025.
The Peninsula Trails Coalition (PTC) is proud to announce that it has hired Ann Livingston of Sarasota Florida as its first ever Executive Director following a highly competitive nationwide search. While the PTC has been a very successful all volunteer led nonprofit for 37 years, the PTC Board determined that the organization could best achieve its mission to complete the Olympic Discovery Trail by bringing an experienced Executive Director like Ann aboard.
Ann comes to the Peninsula from her current position as Interim Executive Director of the Southeast Sustainability Directors Network of Ashville, North Carolina. Her past employment experience includes: Climate Advisor for the Natural Resource Defense Council of Saint Petersburg, Florida; Sustainability Administrator for the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Program Manager for the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project of Boulder Colorado; Sustainability Coordinator of Boulder County, Colorado; and Director for Communities by Design for the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC.
Ann graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in English and earned a juris doctorate at the University of Colorado with an emphasis in Natural Resource Law and American Indian Law. Ann worked as a land use attorney for the Livable Communities Program in Denver Colorado, an organization that focuses on land use and transportation policies at the local, regional, state, and federal levels.
Ann will begin her tenure with PTC in October and will be relocating to Clallam County in November. The PTC Board is excited to welcome Ann as our first Executive Director and to integrate her into our growing membership of trail supporters, trail builders and community connectors. “Ann has the experience and background to elevate our organization to the next level of success in fulfilling our mission and goals to construct, maintain, and advocate for completion of the Olympic Discovery Trail and ensure its connections to other regional, state and national trail systems,” says PTC President Rich James.
