SR 20 Between Blyn and Port Townsend
SR 20 between 4 Corners Road and the tip of Discovery Bay is steep, has no shoulders, many blind curves, higher speed, and often heavy traffic. It’s also a long climb if coming from the west.
Most riders opt to take an alternate route using SR 19 and Center Road (both having wider shoulders). Riding SR 20 instead is dangerous, where visibility is all the more important, and a high-quality mirror can help you see what’s overtaking you, and when.
Another alternate to riding SR 20, is Jefferson Transit. They have a bus (which can carry bicycles) stopping at both 4 Corners Road and the Discovery Bay Store.
Moving this section of the route off the roadway is quite challenging, but is slowly but surely becoming a reality!
